For people involved with charity records and archives
The Charity Archivists and Records Managers Group (CHARM) is made up of people responsible for or involved with the management and care of the records and archives of charities and
voluntary organisations. CHARM membership is open to anyone interested in charity records.
We provide a forum where issues of interest can be discussed and action taken. Our members form a network allowing them to draw support from each other and benefit from shared
expertise and experience.
CHARM operates in a collaborative way with an informal structure and co-operative working. We do not have a committee or office holders, although some ongoing tasks, such as
maintaining the members’ list, are undertaken by individual members.
Members participate in CHARM’s activities as much as they are able or wish to. CHARM online, the group’s e-mail discussion and the website allow group members a greater degree of
communication and information exchange than is possible via meetings alone, and involve those members who find it difficult to travel.
CHARM is an affiliate of the Archives and Records Association Section for Specialist Repositories. A representative of the group is a member of the SSR committee. CHARM receives funding from the Archives and Records Association which pays for the hosting of this website.
